- GATE 2026 exam for MTech admissions will be held on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026.
- The last date to fill out the JAM 2026 application form for MSc admissions is October 12, 2025.

IIT Madras Selection Criteria for UG Courses:-

| B.Tech | 10+2 or equivalent with PCM, with 60% aggregate marks. |
| M.Tech | Candidates must have a valid GATE score. Alternatively, they should have graduated with a relevant undergraduate degree from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate of 60%. marks. |
IIT Madras BTech / MTech Admission Process:-
- Candidates need to complete their 10+2 with at least 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM), while SC/ST candidates require 50%.
- Candidates appear for the GATE, CAT, JEE Advanced, JAM, which is the main entrance exam for IIT Madras admissions to B.Tech.
- After the exam, College declares the ranks based on candidates’ performance in GATE, CAT, JEE Advanced, JAM.
- Based on their ranks, candidates participate in counselling.
- Seats are allocated based on merit, considering both the rank in GATE, CAT, JEE Advanced, JAM and the candidate’s preferences.
- Once the seat is allotted, candidates complete the [College Name] admission process with document submission and fee payment.
