About KCET 2025

KCET 2025 – The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has released the revised KCET 2025 exam syllabus on the website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. The authorities have increased the Karnataka CET exam syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Biology by adding a unit on experimental skills. Aspirants must follow the revised KCET syllabus and paper pattern to prepare for the test. The KCET 2025 registration process started on January 23, 2025. The link to the application form is available on the official website. Candidates are advised to check the KCET 2025 eligibility criteria before submitting their application. Aspiring candidates for B.Tech admissions in Karnataka engineering colleges must apply for the KCET 2025. Applicants who have passed their class 12/PUC exam from a recognized board can appear for the KCET 2025 entrance exam. The last date to submit the KCET 2025 application form is February 18, 2025, while the fee payment deadline is February 20, 2025. The Karnataka CET 2025 exam will be held on April 16 and 17, 2025, with the Kannada language exam scheduled for April 18, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

KEA has released the KCET 2024 eligibility along with the official brochure of entrance examination on the official website. The eligibility criteria of KCET 2024 exam will include the requirements that a candidate needs to meet in order to appear for the entrance examination.

KCET BE Eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate must be an Indian National.
  • Candidates must have passed 2nd PUC/class 12th/equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Electronics/Computer Science with English as a language subject.
  •  No minimum marks are required for KCET 2024 for any category candidates.

KCET 2025 Application Process

Karnataka Examination Authority has commenced the KCET 2025 application form on January 23, 2025. The authority has activated the KCET 2025 registration link on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria of KCET 2025 will be able to fill out the application form. KCET application form 2025 comprises registration, form filling, uploading image & signature, and payment of application fees. The eligible candidates must complete the KCET registration before the last date.

  • Create a password and click on “Save & Proceed”.

  • Pay the KCET application fees.

KCET 2025 Syllabus

KCET Syllabus 2025 has been released on the official website by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). The subject-wise KCET 2025 Syllabus for Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics has been made available on the official website at kea.kar.nic.in. The syllabus of KCET 2025 is based on the first and second PUC syllabus prescribed by the Department of Pre-University Education of Karnataka State. KEA will release the KCET 2025 cutoff online. The cutoff of KCET 2025 will be released after each round of the counselling process. The cutoff will be available as opening and closing ranks. Candidates with high rank will have a high chance of admission to the KCET participating institutes. The cutoff will vary for each category and institute. KCET 2025 Counselling Process

KEA will commence the KCET 2025 counselling online. The notification regarding the KCET counselling 20205 will be updated on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Candidates who qualify the KCET exam will be able to participate in the counselling process. The Karnataka CET counselling process comprises document verification, registration, choice filling, seat allotment, and reporting to the institutes. Candidates can check the detailed step-by-step procedure for KCET counselling 2025 below:

Step 1 – Document Verification and Registration- Candidates will have to get their documents verified at the specified centres. Candidates will be given a unique ID and password after successful verification.

Step 2 – Choice Filling and Locking- Next, candidates will have to log in to the system using the User Id and password. After login, candidates will have to fill in their choices of institutes and courses. Candidates will be allowed to add, modify, and delete choices. Candidates must lock their choices before the last date otherwise the system will automatically lock the choices. No changes can be made to the choices after locking.

Step 3 – Allotment of Seats- After this, the authorities will first release the mock seat allotment result of KCET. The mock allotment is conducted to let the candidates know their chances of admission based on their merit and preferred seats. The candidates will be able to change their choices after the mock allotment result is announced. Candidates will be able to check their allotment status in online mode by logging in using their CET number.

Step 4 – Reporting at Allotted Institutes- The candidates who will be allotted seats will have to report to the allotted institute to confirm their seat and payment of admission fees.

The authorities will release the list of the centres at which special category documents are to be submitted. Candidates belonging to NCC, sports, defence, ex-defence, scouts and guides, CAPF, ex-CAPF and Anglo-Indian categories must submit the documents within the specified period. 

Along with the special category certificates, students should also submit the final printout of the application form and KCET 2025 hall ticket copy. Candidates claiming eligibility under NCC and SPORTS should also submit a photocopy of the study certificates as per the brochure issued by the head of the educational institution for having studied and passed the qualifying examination in the state of Karnataka.

Also, candidates claiming the benefit under various special categories should submit the relevant original special category certificates along with the two sets of copies compulsorily as per the schedule. Along with this, students should also have three photocopies of their KCET 2025 admission tickets.
